a problem with apache on freebsd and mod perl installation...

problem:
i have an ikonboard installation (cuz its free) and it is screamingly SLOW.
my apache installation has all the signs of having mod perl installed (the package is installed, and it is set up in the httpd.conf)
BUT when i run the ikonboard, it takes about 1-2 seconds to load a page over the LAN and at the bottom, its got some admin info (nix time, cpu usage...) and it says that i do not have mod perl installed............
Help!?

Maybe Mod_Perl is not installed. I am sure you tried reinstalling it.

Where are you getting the error telling you mod perl is not installed?

Did you make the install correctly? I have never set up my BSD with mod perl I always run PHP.

If you give more infomation maybe I can give you more help.

And yes this would be one of those things that fits here.

How does apache show that it is configured? I believe there is some option that you can throw to print to an HTML page what modules you have installed. Check that maybe it is not installed correctly.

there's perl and then there's mod perl, the two are not the same and mod perl doesn't just take the place of perl. It requres the perl to be loaded with apache (and requires an apache restart between code changes since the perl needs to be recompiled between changes) What's your complete mod perl config?
