I need three simple blogs on my website, they must each have secure access and share a MySQL database. The code can be php or perl, but it must be easy to set up and integrate within my site design.

I have heard about Greymatter, it is good because it is completely onpen source and it uses perl, but I would like some opinions of people on this forum. What do you use and why etc.

Also I have quizzed my host and apparently you don't get phpMyAdmin on virtual servers, they said that most scripts that use MySQL databases actually create them as well, how does this work if I wont multiple different scripts for different purposes all to use the same database? will it they all automatically integrate into one database, or will they overwrite each other or what? Is my host just being a lying git?

Your comments are much appreciated as I trust you guys.

can't help you on the blog front, but phpMyAdmin is open source and you can easily set it up on your webspace if that supports php and mysql.
So no *real* need of the host to supply it... although it's a nice service never the less.

is phpMyAdmin required tho, and will php scripts generate the databases themselves? that is my main question, how it will all integrate without using a program like phpMyAdmin

If a package is specially designed to include funtions for creating the database, then they will. If not, then they won't.

You'll have to check whatever package you end up using to see if it is designed that way.
