1-how do i get rid of trolls, etc. that just want to mess up the running of the bulletin board or forum? If I mail bomb them then they will do it to the bulletin board.

2-Do I need to add space to my bulletin board for emails or will the software just automatically expand to accomodate to it?

If I have to expand it how do I do it?

OK:

1. Just use your admin controls to ban them - you have access to their IP so you can trace them down and complain if things get out of hand.

1-I don't understand. I know their email address and IP. How does complaining to them stop the practice?

2-My question having to do with expansion is if I get all these messages received and sent on the bulletin board doesn't there come a point where as it grows from small to large that I have to expand the capacity to deal with the bulletin board as it grows bigger?

Or does it jus expand as needed and I don't have to do anything?

how much storage/disk space do you have with your hosting package? I'm not real clear about what you're talking about on the email. There's "private messaging" and you can either enable or disable it via the admin panel, as well as set the maximum numer of msgs allowed in the in, sent and saved boxes. I doubt it will be a factor at all in your forum, the tables for storing posts will get much bigger than the "mailboxes" ever will.

I'll take a wild guess and say your installation won't grow over 20MB in the next year so dun worry about it unless your space is extremely limited.

1. You can ban an account from ever posting and if you have their IP you can often back trace it and find out their host and complain to their ISP. I'd just ban their IP if they kept signing up new accounts.

2. All messages and private messages are stored in the database and probabaly won't get too massive unless things really take off. I don't think emails are stored they just go through a mail function which sends them on (if they are saved then what I said counts for them too).
