does anyone have a headcount for the dot con?

we had a topic about it before, but I think we should start a new one.

I tenatively have plans to attend...that is, if the doctors will release me on good behavior....

OK, as I mentioned in the OZONE forum, we have a location problem. For reasons undiscussed, the farm of F1_error is *not* and option anymore. (It's personal, it's private, he doesn't want a lot of mail about it, dig?) I've looked into renting someplace, but funds are not flowing like water these days, VC capital has not come my way yet (alas!), so we also need to do this on a modest budget. I've been in kind of a state of denial up till now, and just focussing on other poop, but it's time to face facts and make some different plans! I still want to come to Minnesota, it's been over two years and I miss the place. Discussion, comments, ideas?

Well, I don't necessarily think a little clarity could hurt much...

Is this going to be a regular conference? If so, then charging money for it makes sense. If it's just a group of schmoes coming together to drink beer, I don't think we're going to be able to get anything but a campsite.

true true! I kinda like the idea of a buncha schmoes drinkin beer around a campfire....

Well with such a talented crowd, I would think it would be adventageous to have a regular conferance type of thing. You know, people showing other people tricks of the trade, new technologies, etc...

Hell, why not market it a little, have it open to the public, hold it in a city where people care about this kind of thing, and charge for admitance. We have a pool of people to spread the word, make the banners, advertise on the web, etc...
