Looks good DG! And I agree that something more logo-like, rather than just a heading for the page is good way to go. |

I think DG's logo gets a big thumbs up (apart for taxon's attempt to rain on the parade) but that shouldn't stop you from throwing in your own ideas for a logo or playing with the symbol snd incorporating it in your logo. |

Good one , Peter. ( both the logo, and the point. ) Thinking cap is returned to the On position. |

Dg: nice like the first one, because it's nice and clean. That?s what I am trying to head for as nice clean style. |

DS: It does fit with the cleaner look you were working on. As some of the images you used were copyrighted (weren't they) it would make sense to replace them with something homegrown. |

Whooo. Nice DG. I think that is definately much more in the vein of what we need. Something solid...something flexible, easily integrated. Looks good flat but could easily be made 3D as well. Could be easily animated, etc... |

Things have gone a little quiet here so I've been playing with CorelDRAW and was using DG's logo as a simple graphic to learn about creating vectors. The end product isn't perfect (far from it) but if it will kick start things here I can export it as a PSD or AI (coloured or just the vectors). Anyone interested? They'd probably have to tweak it to get it looking the way DG intended or take it and make something different. |

Actually Emps, I don't mind at all, but I already have the AI and EPS formats posted at the salvagion site for download. I had forgotten to throw the link up earlier. |

DG: Excellent thanks for making those available (and thanks for retrospective permission to play with the logo - it was very helpful) - perhaps this might inspire more people to play with the design or do their own thing. I'm sure the Doc would like to see more logo and more layout ideas. |

Minkies: I think DG is right that the early versions of the logo should be kept simple and it can be made fancy at a later date and you have done well producing that simple version. I can picture a nice rotating animation on a Flash version of that (if we do have FlashPong, IllustratorPong, then it might be cool to have the logo done in the different formats, if you get my drift). I really like that and hope it inspires others - you see DG can be challenged at his own game!! |

DG: Bluster? I think you have me bang to rights on all those definitions (hell it looks like I should put blustering on my CV/resume I do it so often) but I thought a bit of bluster might be what was required to get the more graphically able inmates to contribute some more ideas after your fantastic ideas stunned people into drooling silence (apart from a few oohs and aahs). I could have accused everyone of being 'cowardly custards' but I know such strong language is frowned upon. |

Uh..so you want to design a page title graphic without using the logo? |

DG: I wouldn't dream of such a thing - I just thought it was wise to get the terms right. Most of the early attempts at a logo here were actually for titles (although I liked that screaming burning ball idea). It was actually my hope that this might refocus efforts on a logo which might then help with the design of the title graphic. I suspect you are one of the best people here to cheerleading this kind of development (although I suspect the uniform wouldn't suit you) as you have a natural touch for this kind of thing. |
