Rage710: Welcome - I recommend, as you are new, that you pop in here:

:FAQ: The Reception Room

Thoughts on the sig:

1. Its too high.

2. Its too wide.

3. Its colour's (well that silvery one) clash with the Asylum's colours - it has too much glare.

I like the texture and that is a nice font but it needs toning down a tad and it needs to blend in more.

I'll also move this to the sigs forum.

Rage710: There aren't any - that though (at 600 x 100px) is still to high and too wide

You might want to take a look at some of the inmates sigs to get an idea of the general size that tends not to unbalance things around here.

Where was that thread titled "What's in a sig?" that I started about a year ago....? I remember several dedicate asylum sig makers giving their 2 cents on how sig specs should be met.

Have a look around in this particular forum, get a feel for the asylum ambience. Maybe all your sig needs is a quick color change and border. Maybe you should make a new sig. But like Emps seaid, look around at the inmates sigs.

It looks good, the background image, I mean, and the text, as Emps pointed out. It looks a bit bannerish though, and isn't very space conservative at this point. Is the BG image yours?

Emperor: the thread is already in there. In fact, I made the FAQ page since I stumbled over it in the archives.

This page is really useful for some general guidelines. They are not nessecarily strict rules to abide by, but in general it's a very good idea to follow them.

If you're new to PS, there's a couple of good tutorials linked to the buttons on the bottom of this page.
