i made an entry for this month's contest, but it's a lil over 70k and about 50/55 frames. now, i'm sure that some of the frames can be ditched, which i'm trying to do at the moment, but is there anything else that i can do aside from that?

here's the gif:

Don't know about reducing it (I'd probably ditch a bunch of frames) but I love it! I used to watch that show every day after school when I was a kid. Looks great!

Well, I reduced the colours to 16 and got the filesize down to 54k without removing any frames. It's a pain trying to remove selected frames from a smooth animation though! Some times it works out better to go back to the .psd stage and reduce the layer/frames there.
Is the programme "Bewitched"? I like it btw

thanks, i'm glad yous like it

and thanks tao, i didn't think about dropping the colors down. i did that and ditched a few frames and got it down to 47k, which i feel is acceptable (for me anyway).

I meant the other show with a female genie.

Both shows were produced by the same guy, and were very alike. And both were...classies. :P

Maybe add some more buildings instead of having a transparency between them? o.o

Great sig.
I thought the background was originally blue, and it's been confirmed when I saw an episode this midday.google image search for "Bewitched"

uh, yes, i'm well aware of the fact that it's originally blue.... but i didn't care for how it looked, so it's just transparent.

Indeed, that's a good reason to make it transparent

Heres an idea as to how you could shtick in some blue and keep transparency, I didn't spend very long on this and the file size is huge and it looks crap but it beats describing it:

yeah, i would like to have blue in there...but when i tried the first time, well...it was shit.
i've done much poking and prodding.... got the file size way down, but i think i've screwed the transparency.

Lacuna: When I thought about the blue background, I rather saw a TV or in a TV shape in which you'd have put your Bewitched sig. You'd avoid the problem of the fuzzy edges and the choice of a matte color giving good results with both background colors.

gradient the blue from blue you have now near the horizon to a darker blue at the top of the sky...maybe?
