hello people who know things....
ive noticed this little "IP: logged" thingy at the bottom of some posts, where you can display the IP of the poster....
i was wondering what you wacky fellas would do with this info - is this for security reasons, some world domination scheme, or what?
pardon my ignorance if its a really obvious thing.

Hm...I suppose it's just in case somebody registers on the Asylum and posts some illegal stuff in here, e.g. warez sites, porn stuff or racist nonsense...

IP: logged? Naw, we just added that so we can steal your IP's so if in the even we get caught in our World Domination schemes we can actually blame it all on you. Genius really, I suppose theres nothing that could really stop us now, so theres no reason NOT to spill the beans. Hell what were really doing is accessing your computers, and from inside them were actually hacking into large corporations. Once inside the corporations we steal small abouts of money from its business transactions and dump it into false accounts created by our ever loving accountants. Ever see the movie Shawshank Redemption? Pretty similar. Don't worry bunch, you'll get all the credit ...

It's fun. If someone is ICMP pinging me to lag me or scanning ports and it shows on my firewall log, all I do is go to that page and paste in the IP# and it tells you where they are from and who there ISP is and the email address to report them. I have only reported 2 out of my years online, but they were nasty and hitting ports. Now they are looking for a new ISP

far out... who's going crazy with the different versions of "IP:logged"?

Cool, thanks for that link shiii, I've been trying to contact a different author of a similar script for permission to use it, (see http://www.canufly.net/~georgegg/dns/ - it's more than just a little bit awesome.) I'm going to see about using that source code on my system, maybe I can modify it some to even fit our look!
