and why are there so few of them?

oh..... um.... they moderate a specific forum. A mad sci can maderate all forumz. and there is an ant crawling up my leg. and i kant spll.

90% of the Mad Scientists around here used to be Psychotics. I was one. WHen Doc created the Mad Scientist's Lab, he originally gave Psy's and MadSci's access, then upgraded all the Psy's to MadSci's. It was a proud day....

Hey Grumble! Hmm, if you want to contract a healthy case of Psychosis, you first need to find a forum that looks and feels neglacted, unmoderated, someplace where you and your knowledge can be a good thing for it. Then you drop me a note, explaining why you would be so great for that job. Then, if all goes well, you can become Psychotic! The questions you should be asking yourwself are "where are you most active NOW?" Can you helöp by moderating? Help folks along, sometimes just by being that "cool clear voice of reason", sometimes by shutting a thread down or archiving it, what have you. Think about it, cool?

hehe, i dont think im good for moderating a forum, cause im not online half the time. when im here in vienna, i do have a 24h cable connection, but the other times (june-october) i go back to the small village, where i come from and where i only have a slooow dialup, which is way too expensive. i can only go online for 1h per day.

i just wanna become psychotic, cause it sounds nice. hehe

very strange stuff around here. but most of the pages hwo are in the ring are prettey sweet! Do yao even have to be registerd to be in there?

and Doc forgot to mention the all important job of archiving....that's a very time consuming job

I have a diary? Hmm, I'll have to go and read that sometime. The ring is just a lark, and no real time has gone into maintaining it really, rings are so common, why *shouldn't* we have one? =) A whole lotta good things have come out of this forum, well over 1000 members, active and helpful and smart, none of the horrible backbiting and tantrums we seem to see on so many other boards. I remember when the GurusNetwork was launched from these very pages, now it's got a life of it's own, and promises to be one of the biggest and best tutorial sites out there, not just pointers to other peoples cool stuff, but *real original material*, cool beans.

(PS: There are no real requirements for being in the ring. I have to approve the site, with the minimum requirement being having the ring links in place! Mostly it's folks who know and hang ouut here in the asylum, no surprise there.)

Oh yeah, buncha! The trick to dancing as you've been doing (we'll send you a pointer to that image archive by mail) is to distort the transission of the images when you do this kind of stuff. I recommend wearing a pyramid-shaped cap made out of aluminum foil whenever you want to be private. If you have a guest over, make sure she wears one too, otherwise we'll still get the video!
