Topic: The forums and spring cleaning (Page 1 of 1)

Well folks, it's spring (well, late spring, actually), and these forums - the Ozone forum, DHTML and Server-side are getting pretty big - I can't clean all these alone - it's time to remember why the Doc made us MSs and Psychotics...to help with the Archiving/Deleting of the various forums. So please, give a helping hand, and lets trim some of this down, shall we?

all right, I'm pretty busy, but I'll see what I can do.

Anyhow, when you find a thread that's worthy of archiving (meaning at least that it's major question has been asked, usually),
please check in this list http://faq.ozoneasylum.com/FaqWiki/asylumlinks.php whether it's being liked from the faq, and if you find
your thread is linked from the faq, change the link.
(Please don't reload that page too often... it's quite a strain on the server, and can take half a minute to load).

It also lists threads that are linked from the faq, but can't be found in the asylum anymore (probably because they were achived without
adjusting the link). Anyone with spare time can nose through the list and try to find the threads and fix the links.

I took a page and a half off the Ozone last night. Will do some more today.
Working on the *missing* list, re-linking the RPs, and I keep getting this pop up asking for my network password at www.unf.edu

What`s up with that ?

probably an inmate who had linked an image (or his sig) from somewhere at www.unf.edu,
which then became a password-protected area.
We had one inmate once who had his sig at username@somesite.something... quite annoying as opera back then warned
me every time about it...

OK I had left the Sig Contest FAQs alone in the hope that someone would keep the FAQ updated but all I have done is make work for myself

Anyway I have added all the new Sig Contest FAQs and will now go through the last years worth of sig contests ans archive them and then add the wining images and update everything (it'll take a day or so get it all done - its more of a warning that in the meantime things might look a little scrappy - not as in Scooby Doo's nephew either).

Nice work, emp,
I only had to fix a single typo.

I started cleaning the server-side forum a bit, you might have seen it shrink quite a bit. I archived nearly nothing, but wrote a few faqs about the more insightful topics. (lot's and lot's of them seem to have been 'regexp-to-Do-X'...).
Feel free to ammend those faqs as well.
