Ahem.

Well, I came across www.pspong.com and was just wondering what kinda stuff is going on over there. Didn't find much in the FAQ, so I thought I'd ask. I like the look of those layout proposals, and I'm just wondering:

a. how it ties in with the Asylum, or how it's integrated?
b. who's in charge, or who's working on it?
c. when we can expect it to be done, or how it's progressing currently?

That is all.

b) Emps, though I covered most of the work that has been done so far...
But *Someone* (Wink!) is still owing me a nice shiny html layout
- testing enviroment with my own, awful layout is at http://test.coonabibba.de/PsPong - some people have even played, about a year ago.

c) someday.

So, lemme get this straight... PS Pong matches will take place entirely on the new site? And we won't need the PS Pong forum here anymore?

Yup that was the general idea.
A huge amount of work, as you can see, went into the project but for a variety of reasons things petered out and I doubt blame can be laid on any one or group of individuals.

As you can also see the forum here isn't exactly screaming along at light speed. It did initially and it was great to watch the matches but after maybe half a dozen turns I'd stop 'watching' cuz my low speed cable connection would bog down and pretty much choke...and hey that's no fun.

My crappy connection is also the main reason I don't drop in much on the 'sig' forum...which I really do like. Some of the most creative work here... goes on in there... Yes... I know there are 56k'ers out there who patiently wait for both forums to load...but I'd wager there are more who don't take part... or even view the matches because of the heavy d/l time. That being said... I 'always' enjoy both forums when I do drop in.

Nope. We were settled.

Excuse me for being thick-headed. And which one would that be?

I wouldn't say it's an issue of being "thick-headed".
To my knowledge the 'final' layout we decided on, was never actually posted in the zone.

nor anyone ever told the poor coder...

if you can get that to me, I promised I'll have pspong up and running till the end of the year.

Thats because there isn't a finished one. Micahel said we'd settled on a design but it was really screwing up and I haven't had the time to fix the problems. If someone wants to have a crack then contact me.

What kind of 'weird problems' are we talking about?

It's a tricky layout.

It has been "html-ized" but there were some issues with the CSS.

When I get a chance, I'll get back in touch with Emperor on finalizing it.

Skaarjj: Oh stuff like mysterious extra letters appearing that aren't in the code that kind of thing.

DL: OK - I think we should probably take our own advice from another thread - we are essentially trying to make a tabled layout in CSS and it just isn't working. Anyway we'll see what we can see.
