Topic: question on the client (Page 1 of 1)

this is a newbie question, obviously..
ok, i downloaded the client and went through all the settings but where can i set up in what project i participate and what team i join?

btw: when running the client, my cpu temperature raises +10°C... i'll have to get that problem fixed first!

GRUMBLE: To join team go to this page:

and click on the link towards the bottom of the screen which says 'I want to join this team' which is:
http://stats.distributed.net/pjointeam.php3?team=885184470

You then need to edit the client's set up to only do RC5 and this will depend on your OS so let us know and we can provide the answers.

Nevex and cyoung you might want to work up a few simple answers to these questions as Slime is putting together an FAQ and this would fit nicely in an Asylum specific section.

This will get ya going. Give it like 4 days before you check yoru stats. These guys are slow updaters.

my os is win2k sp2.

when i click on the, i want to join, link, im asked for username,password. but i have never provided one. just my email adress (which doesnt work either).

You have to do a search on the stats page for the e-mail addy that you configured the client with. This will bring up your stats page. At the bottom of that page is a button to have your password e-mailed to you. You can join the team using that password/e-mail.

i guess they haven't updated it yet. i'll wait...
