Well, we all love lists and I am in need of listening to something new. So I am just curious what everyone thinks |

Of last year? Hmm. I think the only one I bought last year was the Queen of the Damned Soundtrack. And I loved it. I'm not sure but I think that Opeth came out with Blackwater Park last year, or it could have been 2001. I'm leaning towards 2001, I'm not sure. |

I must admit I am struggling - I check SoaD's Toxicity but that is listed as 2001 (how time flies) and I haven't listened to 'Steal this Album' yet so............ the only albums I can think of from the last year that don't make me want to hunt the artists down and throw them off a cliff are: |

The last album I bought was in 2000--Erasure's "Loveboat." I love it. The next album I will buy will be "Other People's Songs," also by Erasure. I just don't buy (or listen to) a lot of recent albums anymore. |

Suho1004: We are getting old and lets be honest all this 'modern' music is rubbish - there is no tune or proper songs |

Emps: Yes, Erasure. So I'm a New Wave freak, sue me. I go in for PSB, DM, Joy Division/New Order, etc. as well. I suppose you'll want to crucify me now, eh? |

Well if you old farts like Joy Division and New Order, I would give that Interpol album a listen. They |

God I swear if I hear that damn Queens of the Stone Age song that was nominated for a grammy one more damn time, I'm going to put a revolver to my head. It gives me a head ache *cough*. quote:

Well, that depends. Does my scalp have to go with it? 'Cause if that's the case, I would have to say I'm not too thrilled with the idea. Not only would it be painful, but then I'd have to worry about bugs and infection in my head while I'm hanging up there on my cross. That would suck. |
Maniac (V) Mad Scientist From: Happy Hunting Grounds... |

Well...of course the scalp has to come with it...anything else would be absolutely unacceptable. |

Suho1004: Don't worry there are plenty of you out there - I have afriend who is a big fan of Erasure (and the Pet Shop Boys). We clearly treat him with the scorn he deserves but at least you aren't alone |

I am too far behind the times when it comes to "new" music. I suppose that has something to do with being an "old fart". I'll have to smack beaner when I get a chance But actually beaner has been catching me up on the music scene a bit here and there which is pretty cool. |

The Johnny Cash album is America 4: The Man Comes Around and his version of Hurt is one of the great - they played the ass off Personal Jesus but Hurt is in a league of its own Now who said we didn't like country round these here parts?? |

DG: I heard Cochise and it just sounded like a poor Led Zep rip off so I never bothered with the album (although music journos were creaming themselves over it for an awful long time). Such promise..... |

Mike's work with Mr. Bungle just cements the psychosis...but he'd be incredible with Rage. |

DG: Yep Darkside of the Spoon was out in 1999. I've heard one track from the new album 'Lockbox' which has a feel of Supermanic Soul although a little darker and messier and it would probably have fitted in quite nicely on Darkside of the Spoon although it is not as good as those so I'm hoping the other songs are better. |

If you can, try to catch the video to Johnny Cash's 'Hurt'. It combines him sitting in his house singing with images and footage of him from his glory days. It's certainly a hell of a lot more impressive than 99% of the videos out there today, if you can find a channel that plays them, of course... |
