I think its pretty cool looking, perhaps if it was Japan. I don't really think New York's setting is that high-tech, I think they should of gone with something a bit more traditional. |

There was a link floating around a while back to the site where they were displaying all of the entries that were bing considered, and there were some pretty in depth diagrams and illustrations of each that gave you a far better idea of what was actually going on. |

Yes the architect is the same guy who did a museum in London and the design (like a mutating cube) is shocking but I think it is growing on me. I think a bold statement is what is needed and this may be it. |

I don't like the chosen design nearly as much as this one by THINK with the two lattice style towers. quote: How come? I kind of thought it was a defiant statement to those who want to see our way of life extinguished. |

Bugs .. I reason why I prefer the winner is because the one structure that is going to tower way in the sky is going to be 1,776 ft tall in the air .. and I love that is signifies 1776 the year of USA's independence .. and not to mention it will have gardens upon each level signifying life lives on |

Bugimus - The idea that building a taller skyscraper makes any sort of defiant statement to people who want to see us all dead just seems amazingly silly to me. |

Ok, thanks for the clarification. So given those options, I'll go with bigger *and* better |

DL the link might be this, but I'm sure I seen a better site with them all tho.....hhmm... oh well it's been picked now. And as I never really comment on things here about all Philosophy and other Silliness, so I won't really start. |

Personally, I never really liked any of the designs. But architecture usually feels different in reality than it does in illustations, so I'll go with the flow. quote:

One thing I've always wondered since 9/11...do America actually posses fire fighting equipment which would be able to battle a fire 100 storeys up? |

I'm pretty sure that if the towers had remained standing they have water hose outlets on each floor for fire fighting. However, in this case with all the jet fuel, I doubt they could have had much luck because it was burning extremely hot on several of those floors. I think they probably would have had to just let it run its course but they perhaps could have prevented it from spreading to the lower floors. I'm just speculating wildly here... don't mind me |

I wouldn't want to work in *any* building like that. There are plenty of other dangers besides terrorists. Remember I live in the land of earthquakes |
