The beauty is in the fact that it was written by Stephen King. Despite his stereotype of being the horror king, he has the ability to create characters that are real. I love reading his books, especially his later stuff, because he can develop a character like no other author I've ever read.

If you liked that one, try reading some of his other stuff. "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption" is a great short story. You can find it in "Different Seasons." That same book also has the stories that "Apt Pupil" and "Lean On Me" were based on. "The Green Mile" is another book worth checking out.

I'm currently rereading "Dreamcatcher" because I just saw the movie and wanted to go back and see what they left out. (This has to be the shittiest example of how his books sometimes get raped for the big screen.) The book, however, is absolutely one of my favorite books ever. The way it is written is incredible. Sometimes I go back and reread paragraphs just because I like the sound of them.

"Hearts in Atlantis" is a damned good movie. Of course, it's tough to go wrong with Sir Anthony Hopkins in your corner. I haven't read that one yet but I believe it was actually a screenplay turned into a novel and I haven't had much luck with those in the past. I also like David Morse so that was an extra bonus (adult Bobby).

I'm still patiently waiting the next installment in King's Darktower series....

The movie was good, but the book is much better imo. The movie only covers the first third of the book, so a lot of the meaning and depth of the book gets lost... But my view is probably biased, since I had a different picture of the characters than what was shown in the movie.

I bought "Dreamcatcher" today and so far it is great. Though I would read it before seeing the movie

You'll love Dreamcatcher man. I'm reading it a second time and it's even better.

The movie is disappointing compared to the book but I knew that was going to happen.

Have fun.
