I think that there is a quarter million in Zion; it might have been mentioned at the beginning of the movie when they were discussing the problem of the mass of sentinels.

Haaa this is becoming interesting Like you MindBender and Webshaman I thought some events had a single possible explanation. Why does Neo can stop the machines ? And why does Mr. Smith can parasite an human in the Matrix ? In fact, I think both are now acting as interfaces, interfaces between the reality and the Matrix.

Consider this : an human into the matrix, and a machine into the real world. Don't you think beyond the oppositions both act exactly in the same way, in fact are just antithesis seeking the same goal ? Which is stil unclear for me though...

Matrix Reolutions seems to be about the fight between Neo and Mr Smith... Hmm can't wait either

i was wondering how the first anomoly was freed from the matrix. was he mistakenly freed by one of the machines? also just how was zion built? the way we see it in the movie makes it look like it took many years to create? or was it premade by the machines?

The poster has demanded we remove all his contributions, less he takes legal action.
We have done so.
Now Tyberius Prime expects him to start complaining that we removed his 'free speech' since this message will replace all of his posts, past and future.

I think a very key theme here that no one seems to have touched on yet, would be the more zen interpretations of balance. In the first movie, the agents were all powerful. Nothing could defeat, then at the end: Neo gained god-like powers, and none could stand against. Then in the second one, the agents stand no chance against Neo. He is like a God. Except for Smith, he now can duplicate himself and is a formidable opponent against Neo. Neither seems to be able to defeat the other, but balance is achieved.

Now, there is no balance in the real world though. There are hundreds of thousands of sentinels and no possible for the humans to even touch their numbers. So balance has to be achieved.

A couple of points that I think help this along. Think of all of the black and white involved in the movie. Everything is black and white. The two colors of yin and yang. Think of the asian dude (can't remember his name) that was guarding the oracle. Neo asked him who he was, and he said "I am the protector of that which is most important" (balance)

Also, anyone who stayed behind in the movie and watched past the credits, caught a glimpse of Morpheus fighting the same Asian dude. Is it possible that the Oracle may not be a source of "good" in the end?

Which raises the ultimate question of: what is "good" and what is "evil?" And realistically: do either good and evil really exist, or is life (and the matrix) simply composed of opposing forces fighting together to maintain balance.

Another aside (which really doesn't tie into my ideas, but is interesting nonetheless): the rogue programs. They are explained as programs which have escaped the trappings of their programming and are no longer valuable to the system. Isn't the very definitiion of "AI" the ability to escape beyond the trappings of programmin? This would mean that each of the rogue programs in the Matrix is an individual consciousness with it's own free will, and it's own decisions (without getting into the whole causality argument).

Anyways: more info to chew on
