Many years ago, my father died. He basically killed himself. I was one of the lucky few that got to hold his hand as he passed away. His last few years were good. He knew his life's mistakes, and did his best to make ammends. He seriously turned his life around. |

So how much does one need to drink to 'kill' himself? |

Extended drinking poisons the liver, kidneys, pancreas and other organ involved in the filtering of the blood and digestion. Basically, if you got totally smashed every day, after not even 3 years your liver and/or kidneys would shut down. |

wj, please know that we are thinking/praying for you during this. Death comes knocking into all of our lives sooner or later and it's hard to know how bad it is for the next person who is going through it. I have not lost anyone really close to me yet but it is only a matter of time. If you get too worked up over it all, please remember that we're all pulling for you on this end. |

I don't know, man. I can't believe this is going back to issues my mother and I have. She runs a great deal of her life on non-sequiturs that have no hold on me. I get frustrated when she tries to impose them on me, and she gets frustrated when I don't go for it. We will have it out one of these days. Confrontation is good, but I've been too polite these past few years. |

Last year, a student in my year level got stupidly drunk, stole a car (no driving permits or anything) and killed himself. |
