I have Illustrator 7 and I'm printing to PDF with a resolution of 600dpi... Most all of the fonts appear jaggy...WHY?

Is Adobe Type Manager turned on?

I have only *very* limited experience with PDF and Illustrator, but there are two options when saving - screen and print, right? Plus some options for embedding fonts. Have you made the appropriate selections there?

Does the problem exist when viewing on screen? Just when you print?

I don't have Adobe Type Manager turned on or even installed....

I have 600dpi chosen in the Print to PDF options. I will check to make sure the fonts are embedded, thanks.

Try this. Select all and convert to outlines before saving as a PDF. VOILA.
Control-shift-o on the pc.
