Sometimes when you try to print some PDF-files you get an Memory error-message
saying "..the memory could not be read." And the printing is aborted.

This has happened both with pdf:s I've created myself in distiller and
pdf:s found on the net...

My brain is empty on what to do to solve this wierd problem or bug.. :?

Don't know what OS you're using, what software you're printing from, but it sounds like an app problem.
I'll assume you're in acrobat on a windows machine.
Acrobat needs more memory? Try quitting other apps and printing...Or if you're using a postscript printer, it could be out of memory as well. Trash some of the jobs in the rip to free up space.

I'm using a windows machine with 522 MB ram (should be more than enough..)
and I'm trying to print the corrupted pdf from Acrobat 4.

Try to print this pdf and you'll see what I mean. At least I couldn't print it due to the mem-error.. http://www.gavleoffset.se/download/PDF_2_GO.pdf

Check to see how much available hard drive free space you have...I had this problem once when my swap file did not have enough room on my hard drive to grow in order to accomidate a print job.

hope it helps!

2 things: 1) It looks like this pdf was made in pagemaker 6.5 which is the glitchiest layout program ever (6.5). 2) If your printing from Acrobat Reader...when you go to print, under the general tab select Acrobat Reader. In that dialog box select "print as postscript" from the Print Method box. Might work.

I don't remeber exactly. I just remember having to restart alot and smoking twice as many cigarettes as when I use 6.0. I used it when it first came out. I was using it on the first blue G3 that came out as well. I'm sure they've patched alot since then.

Hej!

Have you tried to export it as an EPS (Arkiv-Spara som-välj Inkapslat PostScript i popupmenyn) and then print from Pagemaker or whatever layoutprogram your using? Then you´ll know if its the file that is corrupt or if the printer or some driver that´s messing things up...I do this with pdf:s that our rip dont like...

Ive checked the PDF-file in PitStop and couldn´t find anything strange in it...printed it without problems, but Im on a mac.

Sincerely yours

Tommy
