I have a logo that needs to be cleaned up for print. Right now it exist as a .jpeg file 300 dpi. The file was flattened so I have to remove it from its white background. I have done this before and usually end up with a slight halo around the edge of the text and or graphic ? I have tried ?defringe? option under ?matting?, it only helps out a bit. Also, are there any tuts on that might address this issue? This logo has some thin lines running in it and I need to figure out the cleanest way to ad a clipping path to it (it must be imported into quarkxpress w/a CLEAN embedded path). Is a clipping path the best answer for this problem? The logo is not something that I would like to get into resetting. I don?t know what has happened to it through its lifetime but we are surely not dealing w/ a 1st generation version. Help, help, help?Does anyone have any starting points/recommendations for me? |

Yeah a clipping path. If lines are too thin and you get a white halo with the path, paint more color so that it bleeds outside the path. That's the best advice I have. |

You also have to look at, with certain parts, whether it'd be easier to simply recreate the troubling areas. I find a lot of the time it is... |
