In Illustrator if I take a hyphen and create outlines on it and rotate it 90° and create a pattern brush out of it... if I use that brush to outline an circle the sides of the hypens closer to the center are narrower than the outer sides oof the hypen. Is there a way to prevent Illustrator from stretching or warping when these are applied to circles? |

I don't think there is a way with the pattern brush, but you might try the scatter brush and turn on "Rotate the brush to path." It will get you a little closer to what I think you what. You may have to play with the spacing and rotation to get it to play nice however. |

The same method should work then, as you can control the rotation idependently while rotating with the scatter brush. |

In this case there is a work around to achieve the effect you want. |
