There was a prowar demonstration in NYC on march 23, I happened to be there (I'm not prowar) and took some shots:

nice photos there, asp.

i defintely prefer the picture that includes the cop - feels like much more of a complete picture.
the other one doesn't seem to have any particular subject (except maybe the flag), so it feels as though... i dunno... you're missing something. i just want to zoom out a bit on the piece.
i do, however, love the waving flag in that picture - well taken.

I like them both. I like them b/w with only the flags left in color. You might want to try that as it's a cool effect

Kind of reminds me of the 60s war rally pictures. I agree, the more powerful one is the one with the cop in it. Kind of like that cop is re-iterating what ralliers are saying.

Yes, they have a very nostalgic feel to them. I like them. I suppose it's always a little scary when the majority opinion speaks out because sometimes the majority isn't right.

majority? the majority is anit-war not for it... during the antiwar protest on feb15 there were about 500000 people; and this one was attnded by only about 50... or at least there were 50 by the time I got there.

Actually, by almost any scientific poll you go by the majority of Americans are in favor of the war.

On to the picture, I like both but I like the one with the officers in the foreground better. It gives something solid for you eye to focus on. In the other one there's not really an apparent focus of the photo so my eye just keeps wandering over it without bothering to ever focus on one subject.

Nice work.
