As soon as I can tie up some projects, I'll be getting myself a nice Canon 10D, lens, memory, batteries, flash ...

Anybody know any reliable online shops with great deals and good service?

I bought my 10D and most of my gear from B&H, but they recently switched to UPS for shipping. Since UPS leaves stuff on my doorstep while I'm at work, no matter the value, I'm looking for another shop myself ... :/

Other than the UPS thing, they were pretty good. If UPS doesn't suck in your area, they're a decent shop.

keh.com

They're not huge with new stuff but I use them a lot. Their ratings are very good and seem to lean in your favor and their service is great.

You can find rediculous prices at Broadway Photos sometimes, this is not one of those times: http://www.bwayphoto.com/product.asp?id=cneos10d

B&H has re-added FedEX as a shipping option. I've gone back to them. Nice cheap prices (not always the cheapest), solid reputation, and a huge huge selection.

It looks like I'll be sticking to B&H. I can find only slightly better prices anywhere else. (Other than gray market, that is.) I could get my various pieces from various sites, the savings adding up enough to make a financial difference, but it wouldn't be worth the hassle.

Keep us posted. I'd like to hear your impressions of the camera. I love mine. Sucks away too much of my paycheck, though. There are just *so* many things I want for it.

Oh, I fully expect to immerse myself in photography once again when I don't have to deal with the expense and hassle of film and processing. (Can no one develop a decent print these days?) So, I believe I'll be sharing my experiences here.

Unfortunately, I'm at the mercy of two clients at the moment, both of whom I waiting to get back to me on quotes. Hee hee, these will be the two quickest jobs I've ever done, knowing my 10D as at the end of them!
