Topic: digital cammah...

So my trusty ol S10 final died... again.

I want a digital cam that has a manual focus and iris... and can shoot good macro.
I am happy with 3mp, I don't want less, and I don't need more.

Oh, and I don't really have much in the way of money.

What kind of compromises are there for a manual digital camera? Also, I don?t need to be able to change lenses, but a zoom is (not) a must.



Any leads?

Well I've got the Canon Powershot S45 and I'm mighty pleased.

It should have dropped in price now since the release of the S50.

I cant tell you much about it's macro capabilities, as I've not gotten around to Macro Photo yet.

I have a Konica Digital Revio KD-310Z

3.2Mpixels
takes sony memory sticks and SD cards (at the same time)
It's pretty good at macro shots
Does zoom, 3x optical, not sure about the digi.
I don't think its manual focus though.

It was either this or a Kodak, but the kodaks looked and felt a bit cheap and plasticky, i've dropped this cam a couple of times from a height and there's no marks or anything. I'm sure the kodak would've died a horrible death by now

To be honest, I want a digital SLR.

I cant seem to afford one though. So, that powershot looks like it has a lot of features in there... my only question is how well does it do with low light?

Back in the day I respected the olympus camedia c-xxxx cameras because of their lenses and such... I have not touched one in a long time though... any thoughts on em?

mmm... Well, my powershot s-10 wont read or write to the memory card... and just shuts off. Its old. It is tired of life. And I probably shot too many pictures of the sun with it.

I think I will get my olympus d-510 fixed though. It just refuses to turn on... or to acknowledge that it has any power source at all. It is really my grandmothers camera tho... So I am looking for a camma fer meh.

So how do my 2 digital cameras die simultaneously? I have no clue. Must be gremlins.
