| Bipolar (III) Inmate From: Australia | posted 10-21-2003 01:45 Dang, i dont think my camera would quite be capable of those shots, think i should look into getting a proper slr or something.. |
| Nervous Wreck (II) Inmate From: Dublin, Ireland | posted 10-21-2003 09:29 You don't need an SLR for these shots, but you do need lots of pixels! I took mine with a Nikon Coolpix 5700 (5 megapixels). |

| Bipolar (III) Inmate From: Loughborough, Leics. UK | posted 10-24-2003 12:46 I did try to get closer, but the camera is auto-focus and even with the macro setting on it goes out of focus when getting too close, it's kinda frustrating really. |
| Maniac (V) Inmate From: Houston(ish) Texas | posted 10-25-2003 04:32 Been there. My pocket digital doesn't get very close at all. The macro lens on the SLR really makes me understand how poor the pocket camera was at macro shots. |

| Bipolar (III) Inmate From: Australia | posted 10-28-2003 12:16 You say you dont need an SLR to take those shots? i still dont think my digital canon ixus could do it, it just wouldnt focus at that distance. |
| Paranoid (IV) Mad Scientist From: Inside THE BOX | posted 10-28-2003 16:44 SLR stands for single-lens reflex. It means that when you look through the viewfinder, you're looking through the same lens through which the image is captured. |
| Nervous Wreck (II) Inmate From: Dublin, Ireland | posted 10-29-2003 10:59 OK Wes, I give up - I've edited my post to remove the apostrophe in "bee's", which I found just as annoying as you do. I rant continuously about poor spelling and punctuation in posts and emails, so it's particularly galling to get it wrong myself. I've left the apostrophe in "photo's" because it's a contraction of "photographs" - is this right? |
