Doc, I've been a big fan for years. First got on the 'net at Winternet from Ryan Gesler's acct back when the web was just being born. I learned HTML from an early stage, taught myself how to use the big bad graphics programs at an ethically impure age :P. I've done a few things here and there over the years, but I've recently examined your tutorials and links in more depth.
Thanks almost solely to u, I've landed the job as web designer for the U of M, Twin Cities Student Unions. This is a big job that I'll be working on all summer. Cleaning up the mish mash hash of crap that currently exists there. The beautiful thing about this site is that it is really made up of many individual sites under the URLs http://www.coffman.umn.edu & http://www.spsc.umn.edu. So I get a LOT of oppurtunities to stick fun graphics and javascripts in there. I have put in about 35 hours so far in my first week, and my boss was amazed with how much I got done. I thought I was going too slow, what with agonizing over lighting effects for 3 hours a day, but I guess this web design gig ain't supposed to be as blazing fast as Ozone scripts might make it seem :-P. I haven't completed much yet (spending A LOT of time organizing web server and formattting content), but so far I've been working on http://www.coffman.umn.edu/insider/v3.3/ (not yet javascripted, but I will have that done hopefully my noon Monday) as well as http://www.coffman.umn.edu/insider/past.html (the first link on that page shows my newly created Ozone-esque navbar).
As I said, this stuff is preliminary, but I'll post updates as I add new graphics. I expect the new student union sites to win awards (no, I don't think I'm that good, it's just the competition), so stay tuned for more happy rantings from me.

Totally full of coolness! Congratulations, you can have a lot of fun being the one to do up University pages, that's where Malin started out, working at the University of Goteberg, first (re)doing the internal pages, and later everyone in the department got fired up on doing web projects, she ended up working there for over a year, built a cool portfolio, had a bunch of fun, and dealt with minimal hassles. As long as you do good work, everyone will love you and mostly let you do whatever you want! I like the clean sharp look on the Insider pages, that'll work. The word "Coffman" looked a bit rough, working from an existing logo there? Might be worth trying to redo that one bit of it. Again, thanks, and congratulations!
(Woo-hoo! A Winternet alumni, that's cool. :-)
