Coolness, I noticed someone was doing that, thanks! Have you all noticed any areas that need creating? I mostly just hacked out areas just like the forums, but can never tell, some things should maybe go elsewhere. What a nice surprise, kudos to DL-44 for this one!

[This message has been edited by DocOzone (edited 29-05-2000).] |

When we archive are we deleteing the topics or leaving them in place?
Are there any guidelines we should be aware of when archiving, or is just the older posts that aren't being used any more?
|

Actually, the policy for me is to *never* permanently delete a thread, but when archiving it I will delete it from where it is. I want to be able to always go back and read places where I may have made an ass of myslef, or where silly advertising folks came in with their ads, but it makes sense to keep the active areas clean, no? Thanks again for all your help on this matter!
|

Me whine? Surely you jest! For wasn't it you that seriously jumped on a newbie's case for your perception of ineptitude?
As for the archive what I've been doing is clsoing the old or inactive threads then archiving them. If someone decides they want the thread active we can list among the live/active files. (not flies) |

There's a question I gotta ask on all this. As a moderator of the 3D Forum, can I only archive and delete topics from my forum, or from anywhere? And do I have free rights to do it (I will consulte Dan and Slime first)? |

Archiving goes like this -- if it's a couple weeks with no posts, Archive it it in the appropriate archive. Note that the forum it was posted in isn't necessarily the appropriate archive. When you archive it, click the "delete from this area" or whatever it says box. |

Phil. I noticed a few topic missing from the Gurus section, so I think that's already been taken care of. |

hmmmmm...maybe Pugzly or the Doc did that. I've archived just about everything up to 1st June in all Forums except Gurus (which I left alone)...IMHO, I think it should have its own archive..... |
