Hey everyone:
Im just curious as to how I could go about setting up a protected directory or sub, with seperate FTP usernames and passwords. The host doesnt show how to do it, and Im not sure either. Can someone take a second to tell me how its done? Thanks a lot.

Thanks,

I'am not shure if i get it.

But a friend of mine has an extra computer.
He had put APache on it (needs a Linux OS)
And this is his own webserver whith apart directories for each user and whith some mail and Ftp services for this users.
He could user acces to the different area's on the server, or not.

Wow, your host doesn't know how to do this? This sounds like basic SysAdmin stuf to me. Each of the unique users will need an account on the UNIX server, and their "home" directories will have to be sim-linked (kinda like an alias) into one of the separate FTP directories you've set up. Wait till Pugzly gets back from his honeymoon, he'll know how to do this, I bet.

Thanks for the replies Doc and Rinswind2th.

Im not that one who really needs to know this, Foam (www.foam.ms) wanted to know. I think he was just too shy. He said the information on how to do this was never available to him and hes clueless on it. Ill pass on your ideas to him though, Pugzly any thoughts?
