Hey peeps, just popped in on my cousins puter to leave a message. Due to a virus (apparently), my computers' HDD has been totally deleted. I have yet to check, but it seems i lost everything on the driver. Thats not such big a deal, i dont keep anything i cant spare there, but i might be offline for a time, ranging from a couple of days to 3-4 weeks, since i am about to get a new puter and might decide i dont want to pay to have this one restored, there is a lil partition problem i dont know how to deal with. In any case, i will try to hop online every few days to check mail and read a few bits from my forums. Pugzly and Phil - please do me a favor and keep any tutrial files i sent you on your puter until i am back online. For the rest of you, keep it c00l, and i hope to be back online ASAP. Feel free to email me tho.

partitions are easy! that could be fixed in just a few minutes. all you need is a win9x startup disk (dos) and run fdisk.

Not always, there are programs and companys that make the partitions differently. But you are right, in most cases you will be able to get away with doing a normal fdisk and remaking the partitions.

when i tryed to install Corel Linix OS on my computer i screwed the partition up somehow to fix it i popped the CD that came with my computer in to the CD-ROM and it was fixed (After the program formatted my HD).

Just thought I would put in my 2 cents!

i think ive seen it all. i use a combination of a win95 startup disk (not win98, takes too long because it installs extra drives that i dont need) and the partition magic rescue disk. i delete my partitions in partition magic (never use this prog to format a partition! choose unformatted partition if you must create one). im a visual person

unless im installing win9x, thats all i need to do. winNT & 2k are soo much easier to install (and less complicated) than win9x. then i use fdisk to create my partition and set it as the primary one. i dont normally install win9x

Hi peeps, just checking email and stuff. My puter is back to normal, after a lot of messing around with the BIOS and partitions, but Win98 doesnt manage to set my modem drivers correctly. Its a silly problem, but i will have to wait a few more days before i can get help. Anyway, things are generally ok and i will BBASAP
