Preserved Topic: Color and Monitors

Alright, the last few weeks I've heard the Doc say that with better monitors colors might not match up the same. For example, on a better monitor a logo's background blue might not match up against the background of blue. I was wondering if it matches up perfect on a relatively good monitor, does that mean it'll match up on the monitor that isnt so good? Does that even make sense? If not I could just use a tileable image for a background but I would prefer just the color and I want it to look right. if your talking about appearance in a browser, I think I know what you mean!!

Along time ago I noticed that if I had a graphic designed on a non patterned coloured background, as long as I used the correct hexidecimal code for the BGCOLOR in the body tag it would look fine IN NETSCAPE.. but boo hoo, I discovered that in IE the colour would be ever so slightly mismatched, but enuogh to make the edge of the graphic stick out lilke a sore thumb <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/frown.gif"> (well to my finnicky eyes) boo hoo

so now just out of habit, as well as setting the correct hex code in my body tag, I also create a small tile from the original .psd file of the background colour and also use that in the body tag , therefore I am covering all my bases so to speak.

I found this seems to do the trick !!! its that darn difference thing between the way browsers display colour I guess....

Well, im not sure i understand what you are talking about, but i know that many of the colors i can see on my monitor at home (i got a new 19" MAG for 40% off price!!! woohoo!!!) i couldnt see on the monitor at work. the Asylum background for example, which is kinda grey-blueish, looked black or dark grey on the puter at work.
Dunno if it matters... just put it in <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/wink.gif"> besides, it gave me a chance to tell you of my new monitor.
