Ok I need some help. I know someone here has to use pagemaker. I do the newsletter for my high school and I have run into a problem. I make a gif w/ a transparent background and when I put it in pagemaker the background wasn't transparent. I really need this help.

I don't believe Pagemaker recognizes the transparency. The best thing to do is to turn that transparent background to white. That is, assuming you're just laying it on an area of white paper.

Make a path instead. Just surround the thing you want in your newsletter. When you have closed the path you just save it, and then choose "make clipping path" from the path-meny (I am not sure if that is exactly what it says in the English version of PS).
Then you just save the picture as an EPS. When you import it to your pagemaker document you will see that only the part surrounded by the path will appear.
