Preserved Topic: what the !@#$% is pixel art?! (Page 1 of 1)

Ok, I've heard the term a lot here lately and it seems to refer to Wead's super dark super thin gradient stuff. Am I correct? Does this technique/style have it's own moniker now? On a related note: what the bloody !@#$% is pixel-pushing?! Is it somehow related to the previously discussed technique/style? Where in the world did these new buzz words come from? Definitive answers please.

I believe it's the art of zooming way in and coloring one pixel at a time to achieve the look you want. I don't have photoshop, so I must resort to MS Paint to do this sort of thing...

Yea, it's just using small brushes, zoomin' in a bit, and making small, intricate (and sweet) graphics!

JK -- those terms are terms that appear to have generated here, primarily due to Weedah's small scale high detail art work.

pretty much just means zooming in and working at a pixel by pixel level.

Ya, I was half kidding. I was hearing the terminology so much here lately I was beginning to think that it was something from the "outside". Cool, Asylum coined verbage.

You know, I've done some very zooming work myself, on practically every project, but please shoot me if I ever get assigned the task of making an entire object d' crap one pixel at a time. Anyone ever do that before?
