Honestly... I use Flash a lot. More-so than I do PhotoShop. And if you're just starting out I hate to give ya all teh tips right up front.... we all had to work for 'em.. <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/tongue.gif">
However, If you just got Flash 4/5... it would be worth while to you to 'aquire' a proggie called SWiSH. You can get the demo at www.SWiSHzone.com if you are interested. The purpose of SWiSH is to create text effects. Strictly text however... you can't go moving sh*t all over tha place. All you have to do it plug in the text you want, and then apply a movement/action to it in some way, (which is easy). It's based on teh "time-line" system like Flash and the overall interface I thought was extrememly easy to use. You can make text effects that would take you houre in flash.... all in about 25 minutes... and that's for a pretty good size file. Then when you complete your SWiSH movie, you can actually import it into your Flash movie once you start learning how to use seperate scenes. The reason I say to get this proggie is because it'll save you a llot of time in the long run. Granted, you may not be as knowldgeable about Flash and you won't be sure how to actually create that effect.... but it's good if you want quick results.

Flash takes time like anything else.... ya gotta play with it a lot to learn things as well as check out tutorials. Ensure that if you are a beginner... use beginner tutorials... otherwise you are likely to become lost. I find that most of the Flash tuts could confuse beginners and enevitably deter them. Don't try to jump right in making websites and crazy animations... you'll get frustrated quickly and have nothing to show most likely.

If you're just starting out with Flash, I always like to reccommend www.flashkit.com to people. A group of aussies came up with this site. Very useful if you want to learn the ways of Flash 4 or 5.

If you got anymore questions about it... feel free to ICQ me.... 57917625
