Hey, anybody know about any advertising services? I'm getting pretty fed up with the way my "network" is handling me and I'm considering other options. I know nobody really pays much for ad impressions, but something's better than nothing (which is about what I'm getting right now.)

I think this is what you are talking about, this is links and ratings.

hope that helps?

Funny, this is what the domain "GurusNetwork" was originally supposed to be for, a conglomerate of samll but cool website owners who could then pressure the online advertisers to actually pay us real rates. I never got a good enough offer to make me risk junking up the OZONE or this Asylum, though I've had a long-standing relationship with the guys from ThunderLizard for some time, they only pay by click-through, but they *do* pay, and they also get clicks, go figger!

Let me know how it works out for you, I'll share any of my experiences in the past, and maybe we could talk about the future some, this is of course an area I'm a bit interested in.

Cool, I'm going to take a look at that, thanks.

Yeah, my "agency" (not really sure what to call them) received an annoyed letter from me yesterday concerning their disappointing promotional efforts. They've responded with >reason reason reason< that things haven't been working to my satisfaction. I'm going to try to make it clear that this is their last chance.

I know what you mean about junking up a site, Doc. I wasn't too keen on adding banners to my site at first, but since I unified the core of the site with a template that keeps them in a cozy area, they don't bother me so much. Plus, I've learned some great lessons about designing to get more displays.

I'll keep you posted on what I find out.

I have decent connections with some of the advertising companices. Ken Storck of Advertising.com (formerly Teknosurf) and another guy at Burst.net. These are both decent companies if you're interested.

Thanks, mbridge. Have you had any personal experience getting revenue from either of the companies you mentioned?

I'm pressuring Bla-bla to get more active in my site's promotion. If they don't start showing results, then I'll start looking deeper into these other options. Anyone else had any good or bad experiences with any banner providers?

Heh. I got a really nice form letter back from Advertising.com "Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to accept your site into our network. We do not have an appropriate channel for your site content at this time." Hrmph. I get the impression these folks never have a clue as to what my site demographics are. Ah well.
