I just got a new Mac and ordered an external DSL modem so that I could continue using my DSL w/ the new comp. The manual said: "Although the Cisco 675 supports Linux, Unix, Mac, and Windows, QwestDSL only supports Win95/98/2000/NT at this time" which had me very disappointed to pay $300 for something so useless. |

Totally cool to have so many machines on a home network, the more the merrier! I've got between 4 and 6 online at any given moment, usually windows 2000, Macintosh and Linux. Funny, my ISP out here also said that macintosh was not supported, but that didn't mean it wouldn't *work*, just that they wouldn't support it! Worked fine. Heh heh. |

Well, for day to day *use* I always use the two machines, my primary machine as a Macintosh G4 with a ton of RAM, and a slower, but still fast Windows 2000 box. (Used to be a G3 and NT, but time moves on!) I have this same setup at work, I've worked this way for years and insist any employers duplicate my prefered working environment. It's kind of neat, actually knowing which quick-keys will work on each platform, and being able to install things on either, test browsers on either, it's the way to go IMHO. |

Yo Wes! You wouldn't be using a Belkin Omnicube for switching between your cpu's wouldja? I'd be interested to hear what you're using and if you like the setup, I gather you like from your post. I was using an Omnicube so I could use the same monitor etc on 2 cpu's and the thing made some nasty "ghost" stuff in my monitor that I decided I couldn't live with. Everything had a shadow behind it like it was shifted down 1px and left 1px, it sucked. |

The switch I'm using is a Linksys ProConnect KVM100SK. Comes with all the cables you need and all you have to do is plug it in. Hit the button on the box or press CTRL twice and it'll switch between computers. You can read about it at http://www.linksys.com/products/product.asp?prid=99&grid=15 |
