i used to have Win98 and whenever i put a cd in it would read the autorun file(on the cd) and start the program. Now i have winME and it doesn't autostart and i can't figure where to turn it on. Would having a burner as the cd-drive make any differece? |

Actually, JakeB, I've had the same problem on my new-ish computer with Win '98. |

Man, I love windows me. It's fast, extremely stable (hasn't crashed yet), and has pretty good customization. I haven't found much if anything wrong with it. *shrugs* |

i don't like winME, but it came on here and i haven't had time to change it yet. But is the autorun problem because of ME or because of the burnerdrive? if its just ME, i might be able to make a program to do the autorun. |

System Properties (either through Control Panel or by right-clicking on My Computer), click on the Device Manager tab, find and highlight your CD drive and click on the Properties button, click on the Settings tab, then place a check in the box titled "Auto insert notification" |

Haha, what an asshole I am. Ass/Remove? Sorry about that post. My friend came to the door while I was typing it with Green Day tickets. I was in a hurry. Forget all that shit I said. I was in an altered state of mind. I have no idea how to fix your problem. I hope you figure it out. I can't stand Windows Me. I hate it. I want to get rid of it. It is evil, evil, evil. Give me 95... Just for the love of God keep Me away from me! |

I dunno. I just don't like it. I mean, it's nice and polite to me I guess... I dislike it for many of the reasons silence listed. I run a way low-end machine, and Me eats up a ton of my system resources, much more than 95 ever did. It's way more stable than 95 (thank God) and a lot more predictable, but it's slloooww on my poor little computer. It also seems like there's a lil tiny memory leak in it... After a few days I tried going back to 95, but then I caught hell trying to get my DSL to work right every time I booted up. Screw that. So it's back to Me for now. I distrust Windows 2000 for the same reasons. System hog (or so I hear) and leaky. I'm getting a new box soon, and you can be sure it will be running on 98. I want a Mac. *sigh* |
