Okay, this is a bit on the cruel side, but it's hilarious to watch.

If you share your computer with a significant other, your kids, or donate free pc time to the homeless, this is for you.

All you do is take a screen shot of the desktop, hide the start menu bar, and set the screen shot as wallpaper.

Then sit back and watch the hapless victim click on icons that don't work. It's minutes and minutes of fun.

I did this a while ago and it was pretty cool.

Oh, and my girlfriend just started talking to me again yesterday so things are looking up, thanks for asking.

Dude, you have to flip it upside down.. or it doesn't have full effectiveness.
Another good one is setting the text color the same as the background..

BTW, my personal favorite is after a little sister (or anyone else) is finished with a computer, restart it then put it into safemode (if using windows) then screem at them asking what the hell they did to the computer ..

Try using this as your wallpaper. It's 154kb, so I'll just link to it...

You've got it , sorta. Here's the version I used on my future boss when I was just freelancing for his company.

1. (when he's not around of course) Open a small browser window to filthypoopsex.com or something naughty and screeen cap that
2. set it as the desktop
3. go to control panel > mouse > pointers and change his mouse cursor to an hour glass

Then sit back and wait for a job offer.

I always do this to the school computers (I log on as the administrator first, of course!). Here's some good ones.

1. Make a page that opens up jodi.org in ie's fullscreen mode. That way, there will be no browser controls, and you can just watch it go crazy! Another little twist is to create a macro that will open up the page when a certain key is pressed. That way, you can watch from a distance as someone hits a key then helplessly watches the gobbledegook that is jodi.org. Then, of course, the person goes to find the librarian who is equally confused.

2. Change the autocorrect in Microsoft word so that most common words are autocorrected. You can have them autocorrected to blank spaces or my personal favorite, naughty URLs.

3. This one expands on the first method mention. Screen Capture an error, and open it up in Photoshop. Change the text to whatever, like "You are 0wnz0r3d by l33t h4x0r".....or not. Anyway, drop the modified error message on top of the background, and set this as the wallpaper. Watch as the user tries over and over again to close the error!

Hmm... I have alot more, but those are some pretty good ones. Have fun!

I've done the screencap/wallpaper thing, but I never thought of inverting it. Hmm...

Being an old time programmer, one of my favorites is writing mock/sim programs (sometimes used for collecting passwords). It's real easy to do with VB. Make it look good, toss in some functionality, lots of goofball stuff, and change the shortcuts/file extensions.
