Off the top of my head, I think Start > Run > "charmap" should work.

I've never actually gotten those keyboard shortcuts to work though. I've never really had the need...Anyone know why they don't work?

§lime, u nerd.... all you have to do is hold down the alt key while typing a four digit numeric combination......... here's some examples for you to practice with...

? = alt + 0149
© = alt + 0169
± = alt +0179
? = alt + 0156
® = alt + 0174
£ = alt + 163

I was trying to use the numbers above the keyboard, rather than the numpad. Thanks for the heads up.

Oh, Thank? you! Thank? you thank? you thank? you!!! This has been so frustrating for me on my windows box, I *know* all the ascii codes for special characters, but couldn't pull them out of the system, it was driving me crazy! If anyone needs it, I keep a script for outputting the codes at http://www.ozones.com/special.html - I use it all the time, handy. Thanks? again!

I've noticed Doc that the ascii symbols vary from font to font....that's why charmap is so useful....if anyone needs it for their windows box email me at gemberlingb@hotmail.com and I'll send it to you...

It should be on your Windows' CD. You may have to install it because windows doesn't automatically install the Character Map program.
