This one drives me crazy

John and Mary leave their house at the same time and drive off in opposite directions. John drives at 60 m.p.h. and travels 35 miles farther than Mary, who drives at 40 m.p.h.. Mary's trip takes 15 minutes longer than John's. For what length of time does each of them drive?

Any help?

John goes 135 miles in 135 minutes.

Mary goes 100 miles in 150 minutes.

I figured you would want to see the system of equations.

(x+35)/y=60/60
x/(y+15)=40/60

Oh yea, where x is Mary's distance and y is John's time. Basically just plug those variables into distance/time=velocity. My velocity was in miles per minute (that's what the /60 does on the right side.) Just shout if you don't understand how I came up with those equations or how I was able to solve them.

Ok ok, translation:

Max: Sash, 6th class of elementary school.

Sash: I ran away from the school.

Max: That is the consequence (hm not the best translation but you get the point)
