Howdy F8L! Sorry I didn't get back to your mail, it came in today while at work and I haven't gotten to it yet. Oh, don't bash him on the frames usage, he's a cafePress store owner kinda guy, I used frames on my store implemetation, with a BUTTload of javascript to hold all the variables together, with a final javascript to write the form that gets sent to cafepress, which shows up in their look & feel, so frames are an OK thing really. Frames are good when frames are good, and bad when they're silly. Look at his store, and then compare the functionality of my store (which merges 2 cafePress tores), and you'll see what he's after, I wouldn't urge anyone to start with this script as a learning device, but since it's something useful that is needed, what better place? F8L, I'll go over the details with you in a bit. |

DocCyber: I know I have been trying to impliment commerce.cgi now but it is slow even on a dsl. The way CafePress handles the orders, I dont need a physical inventory just a shell. From the Multi stores that I have seen (even Cafepress' JSP beta) they are slow to load on a variety of servers. DocOzones and a copy at www.rudewaregear.com are the fastest and the guys at rudeware have at least 75 different designs with at least 8 products each with at least another 8 sizez available with-in. That would be about 1200 individual items to add to a shopping cart, and it doesnt matter if its jsp, asp, php, cgi, or cfm it will load slow as it tryies to search the database for it. |
