When using windows explorer in windows 98, is there any way to specify which hard drive it opens up and displays when you start explorer up.At the moment I have two hard drives, one for windows etc, and one for data and programs. Whenever I go into Explorer it always show the contents of the windows hard drive which is very rarely the one I want to view. |

You can also specify a directory for explorer to start up in like that. |

Changing the shortcut to "explorer.exe d:" merely opens up a folder view of drive d: on my pc, not the usual explorer view. |

I'm trying... will let u know if I reach there. I don't think its really possible to display d: as the root in the left pane and have My Docs in the right, but hey, methinks I'm missing something somewhere... |

vp: as for changing startup path for notepad or wordpad...it's a bit tricky and it will be a system wide change, but you can try if you want: |
