my dhcp client used to get 192.168.0.2, my host is a win2k pro, now it's assigning my client 192.168.0.31 every time it turns on, how do I configurated this? I would also like to know why is it behaving like this, if you know, thanx. |

That's hard to say - how many other machines are on the same network? It could be that the lease ran out, and another machine grabbed that address. DHCP is just that - DYNAMIC. The fact that you have a valid address (then and now) means that it's working fine. |

Yeah this is what DHCP servers are supposed to do. |

I used to have DSL, after my isp bankrupted, I never changed any thing (that's probably why), and I have only 2 machines, 1 server and 1 client, server is win2k, client is winME. |

Well, 192.168.x.x is a private network range. If everything is working fine, I wouldn't worry about it. This address is something your server is giving out (not your ISP). |
