Hah! I love it, my machine at work that kicks such ass is a Mac, too, G4/500 dual-processor, I love that machine (sometimes). My mac at home, an older G4/450 single does better than all our PC's still, go figger. (Hmm, remembers to turn that one back on, I usually do too much work for extra applications to live long there, even with 512MB ram, heh.) |

Rikimaru - Doc, Cyoung and a few other people, are running application from Distributed.net which tries to crack RC5 encryption by checking various key blocks... And since this will put a lot of pressure on your CPU, it's best way to see how fast your CPU is (especially FPU unit)... |

Yah, I like these things, how else can you tell if your computer is malfunctioning or no? I was at www.shockplay.com yesterday, they're the guys who made that flash ping-pong game, and they had another one, did a bunch of graphical tests in flash and then rated your system based on the times, nice benchmark, I thought. |

Oh. I probably should have linked to this page instead. Anyway, I've finally crunched over 100,000 RC5 "blocks".. which represents a lot of cpu time. But the number of keys tested is the really big number.. hehe.. what comes after a billion anyway? Trillion? Jillion? Gazillion? |
