Wahoo =) nothing too complicated, followed Doc's glass ball tutorial, tried to copy some of the extra things he did at the end of the tutorial, and then added a shadow and altered the lens flare (since it didn't look completely realistic to me). Could be better, could be worse.

Very Nice Slime!
when I started, i used the hands on Doc's tut, very easy and shows you the basics concept of Photoshop!
few days more and we will get you on PS Pong!

Ahh! in the image, yes, I would work on the shadow!!

The outcome's okay, but I have some questions:

2500++ posts and never touched PS? on Ozones? Wow.

If this is your first time PS, how did you make the slimies for this forum? Or did you do those with PSP or a less legal version of PS?

More importantly mahjqa, is that you have 1200+ posts and you never knew this.

edit: oh... Slime... great job on your first "go". Looking forward to more.

Mahjqa, I've used other image programs; mainly POV-Ray and Microsoft Image Composer (MS's horrible attempt at copying photoshop).

I wasn't entirely happy with the shadow myself, but it seemed wrong not to have one. =)

The is a filter in PSP that can do that glass ball in an array of colors. But for doin that without a filter, great job.

Oh yeah there are filters that do that. My sig was made using a filter I downloaded off some 'leet site.

Nice job slime...Photoshop is Addictive, I remember the first thing I ever did in PS was Doc's lighting FX2 tute back in 97, go hit up every tute you can find, it will help with familiarity with the tool. If you can track down Kai's ole Channel Ops stuff it will be enlightening too.

My "nifty" psp abillities came in handy.
Bleached it a little to disguise main flaws and ~uffffffffffffffffff~

punch me again?!?!?! grrrrrrrrrrrr i'll take you on in pspong in the end of march!!!
i cant do get serious on photoshop now because of exams, but i'll get you!!

Good job Slime. Just work on the shadow and you'll have a nice glassy sphere.

You probably already know but Phong has a nice tut on something like that as well. ---->

I love the glass effect but yes its the shadow. also if the light is coming in from 10 oclock then there shouldn't be any shadow around that edge.
just my tuppence worth
