Ehhrmm... Your'e a bit to late! I have already payed! I can picture my self a thirteen year old boy with a packet sniffer getting my cardnumber and buy everything he wants. Then later when he is tired he publishes the cardnumber on a forum so every idiot can use it and buy alot a things. Then when the cardlimit have been exceed 10 times the cardprovider interveens and says: "Next to the line 'credit limit' its a small asterix '*' and if you look at the bottom of the page there is a little message next to the asterix saying: 'SUCKER! hehehehehe now you wish you took that extra insurence! Are you asking if that site is secure to order from?

Well.. here are few things you might look into. When you see the little lock on the bottom, click on it and see if the name on the Secure Certificate matches the website. See, its hard to get a SSL for a "company" if they are not registered as a legite business with the State that they reside at. Soo.. if you want to have your own SSL you need to be registered as a company to have your own yourdomain.com certificate.

But!

There are places and hosts that let you use their secure certificate, which can be pretty easy check just by looking at your address bar.

LIke Ini said, nothing is always secure. You can of course get a 1028bit SSL but its expensive and most compnies don't do that since 128 is pretty good enough.

Here is another thing to look at. When you send a form Via Secure Site and lets say that form is send to an email to the person, that email is not secure (unless they have Secure Email Cert) so what is the sense of sending data via secure website if your info goes to an unsecured email???

Yeah, I heard that for PGP they printed the entire source code and shipped it in book form to get around that. That's a whole lot of books.

And PGP should be able to do 4096-bit encryption.

Until all the kinks are worked out with encrytion and security, I have a workaround that I'm comfortable with and should minimize damage if my card data are intercepted online or if I choose an unscrupulous merchant.

I have a second checking account. It's a no-fee, no-frills, bare-bones account with no line-of-credit. But it has a VISA debit card. I use this account only for online purchases. I maintain only $10 in it, adding funds as required and only when required.

At my bank, account transfers are instant. So when I make a purchase, after finding the total, I open a second browser window and transfer the exact amount from my main account to the "unsecure" account. Then I complete the transaction. As soon as it clears I'm back to having only a $10 exposure.

The only "fault", of course, is that I have to already have the money. In my case, that's an additional benefit. And watching the main account balance decrease BEFORE I make the purchase has (sometimes) helped keep me from making fivolous purchases.

Is it possible to include pgp in php?
That would be cool if you for instance sends an formail which is encrypted with pgp with an public key. Then I can decrypt it with my private key.
