I don't have powerpoint, so I don't really remember. But I vaguely remember right clicking on it and going to some dialog box where there were tons of options and a list of all the media clips in the slide, and I think you could set it there... you might have to look through all the menus.

Skatefx: As far as I'm aware you can only insert sound clips into slides not the whole presentation (although it might depend on the version of Powerpoint hmmm... just checked a book on Powerpoint 2002 and it only mentions using clips in slides). It would be odd that you couldn't do that but that is no guarantee. I'd go with what majhqa said.

Probably too late but...

With your presentation open, go to 'normal' view. Then under 'slideshow' go to 'custom animation' then go to "multimedia settings" and in there you'll see various options....and that's where you can tell the presentation to stop..or continue etc. It's not the most straightforward procedure.... but that's where it is.

Basically your sound file is in the first slide and when you go to those settings you tell it to continue playing the 'sound' until it gets to the final slide. Hopefully that made some sense.
Sorry if it's too late.

NJ: Thanks for that - I've filed it away for future reference - should we have a section in the FAQ for office (with a small 'o' - Star Office should really take a hold soon I notice a lot of PCs shipping with it as standard) application questions? Things do come up here from time to time.

That's not a bad idea. Believe it or not, I got my Associate's Degree in Computer Science with an emphasis in Computer Applications... basically, I know more about Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint than most people care to. Though it doesn't seem like much, I've become the Marketing Department's first call for any Office questions. Turns out I.T. knows how to install it, but can't use it worth anything...

One really nice thing: I got to count my Photoshop class toward the degree, and got my company to pay for half of it!

For PowerPoint 2002 that option doesn't seem to work, because It's no their!!!

It appears that for 2002 you have to have the sound file running with an external media player...
