Additionally, I'm currently working on the documentation outlining THE BOX's purpose and guidelines. Here's a preview:

The Logbook, however, stays with THE BOX. You are encouraged to read through it and enjoy the messages and artwork left by previous Holders. Only those who have held THE BOX know what is in the Logbook.

Before you hand THE BOX over to a new Holder, you add to the Logbook and include a new Gifty. You may then continue to track THE BOX online to follow its continuing journey.

Of course, there are guidelines that must be followed; some of which are designed to protect THE BOX, others to make the experience more interactive and enjoyable. So, before becoming a Holder, be sure to familiarize yourself with them.

Hey, guys, thanks for the support. Keep those donations coming! There's still a lot of work to be done, but I'm trying to complete it as I can.

For those who don't have a PayPal account yet, just click on the button at www.passthebox.com and I believe you can make a donation and set up the account all in one step. Just fill out a few fields, click a link in a confirmation e-mail and you're done! (I thought it would be an involved deal, but it really wasn't.)

If everybody in the Asylum could spare just a couple of bucks, we'll be set! I won't beg, though. Just give what you can and only if you can.

BTW, I won't reveal donation amounts publicly. Don't want to embarrass anyone who wants to send in that $100.

I tried to donate money, but I had to make a new account, but it said I already had an account, and I don't know what it is, and now I am sad.

DigitalUbiquity, try going to www.paypal.com, entering your e-mail address and clicking "Forget your password?" Maybe you can retrieve the old account.

I don't have an exact goal for funding the project. I just know I need all the help I can get. The case that will become the box will be about $40, then there will be whatever cost to modify it (painting, screen printing...?).

BTW, I hope everyone understands I'm not asking for money for myself. Everything will go toward THE BOX. I'm just low on personal funds and hoping that those excited about seeing this take off might be able to help me make it happen.

I let a couple of my personal domains lapse so I could pick up passthebox.com and I'm scraping together whatever time I can to outline the site. Baby steps, baby steps.

Unfortunately, that $5 bonus deal only applies if you meet the requirements, one of which is transferring $250 into your PayPal account from your bank account. Everyone I refer would have to do that in order for me to get the $5. I can't do that and I certainly wasn't expecting anyone else to, so I dropped the idea of the donations.

Turns out that I, of course, need a photo ID to open a box. Seeing as I just renewed my long-overdo Texas driver's license (hey, I forgot about that driver's license photo thread!) and they made me relinquish my CA license, I have no photo ID -- just a paper one till the real one comes in the mail.

However, please continue to submit your contributions at www.passthebox.com if you are able to do so. I have already received some generous donations and I am very grateful.

I will get that P.O. box open as soon as I can.

Believe it or not, my license came today and the P.O. box is now open! (I got one right at eye level, too. Good times.)

Please feel free to send checks or money orders to the address below. Do not send cash. Sending cash in the mail is a Bad Idea(tm). Don't think postal employees are too honest to open envelopes. A friend of mine lost a good $100 thinking he could pay a ticket with cash. I cannot be responsible for lost currency.

Weeeehhh! P.O. box opened! Wes, as soon as I go to my bank, I will ask about sending checks to the U.S. I know things can become very complicated and expensive here. Maybe I will send cash though. I know, Bad Idea (tm). I will think about it. I did it once and everything went fine. Hm.

And with this bump, I'd just like to take the opportunity to let everyone know that THE BOX is still on. I've just had a lot of freelance work come in all of a sudden and it has had to take priority, as I'm sure you can understand.
