FTP? use Smartftp.
from a webserver? I know they exist, but I can't think of one now.... (but somehow, my brain says 'websnake', never used it though).

I've actually been thinking of writing an app that looks at a webpage and downloads everything it can find on the domain...

Can`t you just list the urls in GetRight and let it run ? You can control how many files/segments it downloads at a time, and tell it to schedule all others for later..

A total piece of garbage. You've obviously never seen what that program does to a web server. That program has caused us ALL KINDS OF PROBLEMS at Gurus Network. It just tries to follow links that don't exist, and then causes THOUSANDS of 404 errors, tying up server resources.....

Luckily all those offline browsers can easily be blocked with a little help from mod_rewrite Apache module...

That's what I've heard. I think with the redesign, I want to implement that....

I don't mind donating the space/bandwidth to the site, but when one of those things kicks off, it's just nuts.
