(i wasn't exactly sure where to post this... if it'd be more appropriate in html go ahead and move it, thanks)

seeing as how horizontal pages got real popular about a year ago, and quickly became lame 2 months after that, i figured i'd go ahead and make me one.

right now it's looking like the information would be 500px tall and... 4340px wide.

is there a certain point where browsers just bog down from too much info? i figure that even though it's that wide it'd come in under 300k... probably closer to 200k.

i'm still doing the mockup in photoshop and don't want to get half-way through coding before i realize i'm doomed, so share your insight and advice now...

I did one before...It was 5180 pixels wide or something like that....

Ini put a nice scrolling java thing for me. It looked really nice..it would scroll fast and then slow down to the point on the link..

Presonally , I like them. Especially when its for web design portfolio. It;s different you know?

But yeah.. I had it in nested tables, with each table 740 wide...

The only problem I had with doing that page is when I tried to save it optimized in photoshop, it would give me "image too big" bs... but it went anyways...

I believe www.pixelflo.com is horizntal scolling...so maybe DG has more of an Idea on the probs with horizontal scrolling...

I've never messed with the idea...it is interesting, tho.

Good luck.

that's cool max, you got an example of that page anywhere on the web? i'd like to check out ini's code too if anyone knows where i can see it... i'd like to use something like that if possible.

oh yeah, but is it going to be possible for me to code something like this design and scrolling code with full w3c(?) i'm drunk, sorry)) compliance? having css work is a joy, don't wanna go back down the path to bad code.

cheers

Here is an example i made a while ago.
Script works in IE4+, Mozilla and Opera. Don't know wether it works in NN4.x or not.

horizontal pages are nice when the window is really short (like a pop-up)... but full windows scrolling to the side just makes me ack..

Um, I get no scrollbars at all on that page, and clicking on the setDelay() just gives me an error... I'm using IE 6.0 on a PC, by the way.
