Ok, I'll admit it, I don't have a lot of money, (I am dirt poor actually...) and I looking to keep some of my old programs up to date. I was wondering how you guys find good deals or ways to get some of the big time programs with out spending a lot of cash? And I am asking how to go about it the LEGAL way, no P2P programs. What I do is keep my eyes on Ebay, sometimes they have good deals there, but I am asking if there are other ways to go about this. Any tips guys?

Sometimes you can get a good deal on OEM versions or No Box/Manual versions...

...My friends dad is a pilot and buys programs for dirt cheap down in Mexico, like, he bought 3dsmax and adobe photoshop/illustrator bundled for $20. I'm not sure that their legal copies though

I mentioned this in another thread, you can get upgrade prices on many softwares, all you need is proof that you own the old program. You can usually upgrade from *ancient* copies, and they only need the serial # from the manual, and perhaps a copy of the first page of that manual. You can buy these old books for next to nothing in used bookstores! Pick your apps, read up on what they need, and then go get the proof of "purchase". It's cheap, and it's legal.

Another thing is to look for educational versions. They're usually full versions just like the full retail ones, and all you need is some proof you're a student or teacher.

Well, I don't know about where you live but here in Greensboro, there are a ton of used book stores that sale used CD's and even software. That is where I found my copy of Photoshop and only paid like $50 for it. They have most of the MS office stuff and other programs. Some are out of date though. Then again some are not. It's kind of like they bought it and didn't like it so they sold it there. Worth a shot anyway.
